Manage your profile, security, preferences, plan limits, API keys, and account deletion.

Overview

Settings in the account menu is where you manage your profile, sign-in details, display preferences, Stage input, plan limits, and API keys. Account deletion lives there too.

Creating an account

Register with an email address. Akordo emails a verification link that expires in 12 hours. Open the link and choose your password there. The account only exists after this step, so nobody who knows your email address can choose a password for you.

If you did not receive the email, use Resend verification email on the registration page. If you started registering during a sign-in from another app, the original browser continues automatically after you confirm; confirming in a different browser completes the account but you sign in there separately.

Passwords need at least 8 characters with uppercase and lowercase letters, a number, and a symbol.

Signing in

Sign in with your email and password. A browser session lasts 30 days. Sign-in attempts are rate limited, and repeated failures lock the account briefly.

If you forget your password, use Forgot your password? on the login page. The reset link works once and expires one hour after it was sent.

Account & Security

Profile

Your display name appears wherever your account is shown: in groups, on shares, and in setlist teams. It can be up to 120 characters. If you leave it empty, your email address is used instead.

Upload an avatar with Change avatar. JPEG, PNG, and WebP images under 5 MB are accepted. Zoom and drag to crop, then Save avatar. Clear avatar removes it.

Email address

Changing your email requires verification:

Enter the new address and your current password.
Choose Send verification email.
Open the link at the new address and press Confirm email change. Opening the link alone does nothing, which keeps mail scanners from confirming on your behalf.

Until you confirm, the old address stays active. The pending change shows in Settings with its expiry, and Cancel request withdraws it. After confirming, sign in with the new address. Password resets go there from then on.

Password

Enter your current password and a new one, then choose Update password. The browser you used stays signed in. Every other browser is signed out, and OAuth connections and API keys are revoked, so reconnect your integrations afterwards.

A password reset from the login page signs out every browser and revokes every connection.

Preferences

Song display defaults

Default to numbers for new songs opens songs in Nashville numbers instead of chord letters. You can still switch on any individual song with the ABC / # toggle. Numbers need a key on the song.

Appearance

Choose System, Light, or Dark. System follows your device. This setting is saved on the device rather than your account.

Stage input

Enable MIDI pedal / page-turner input asks the browser for MIDI access and lists connected MIDI devices. Assigning MIDI messages to Stage actions is not available on the web yet, so this is a preview. Pedals that act as Bluetooth keyboards work without it. See Stage mode.

Usage and limits

The Workspace & plan card shows what you have used against your plan:

Songs, setlists, and groups, as used and limit
Arrangements per song and tunings per arrangement
Audio storage, maximum audio file size, total audio attachments, and audio tracks per arrangement
Whether MCP access is enabled

On iPhone and iPad, open More → Account Settings to see your plan limits. The account summary describes your personal plan. For a group-owned arrangement, the Audio section shows the effective upload limits for that group. Group uploads count toward both your storage and the group’s storage; the group’s owners determine its plan limits.

Unlimited audio storage does not remove the maximum file size. A transport limit of 500 MB per file still applies, and your plan may specify a smaller maximum. Pending uploads can temporarily reserve space and count toward attachment limits. The server checks current limits when you upload.

Akordo is free during early access. Every account starts on the same plan, and higher limits, API access, and MCP access are granted by the Akordo team. If you need more, ask through Help & Feedback in the account menu.

API keys

API keys let scripts and AI assistants use your account. They are available when your plan includes API or MCP access; otherwise the section explains that access is not enabled.

Creating a key

Enter a name for the key, such as "Claude Code" or "Setlist sync script".
Choose Create key.
Copy the key from the dialog. It is shown once and cannot be recovered later.

Keys created here can call both the HTTP API and MCP.

Listing, creating, and revoking keys requires a browser session that signed in within the last 15 minutes. If Settings asks you to sign in again, do so and come back.

Managing keys

Each key shows its name, prefix, access (API v1, MCP, or both), when it was created, when it was last used, and when it expires. Keys expire after at most 90 days. Choose Revoke to disable a key immediately. There is a limit on how many keys an account can hold at once.

Tips

Name keys by where they are used so you can revoke the right one
Revoke keys you no longer use
Rotate keys by creating a new one, updating the app, then revoking the old one
Treat keys like passwords and never paste them into shared documents

Delete your account

Deletion is permanent. Before you start, hand over or delete every group where you are an owner. Akordo refuses to delete an account that still owns any group, even one with other owners, so have another owner change your role first or delete the group.

Open Account & Security and find Delete account.
Enter your current password.
Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT exactly. It is case-sensitive.
Choose Permanently delete account.

Akordo rechecks your password and your live browser session before committing. An API key or OAuth token cannot delete an account.

What happens to your data:

Personal-only songs, setlists, imports, uploaded audio, preferences, credentials, and profile are deleted
Content that also belongs to a group or to other collaborators stays with them, with your ownership, membership, and name removed
Security records that must be retained are anonymized and expire on their normal schedule

Self-service bulk export is not available yet. To request an export before deleting, send a message through Help & Feedback.
